Mastopathy is a fibrocystic disease characterized by a disorder of the ratio of epithelial and connective tissue components, a wide range of proliferative and regressive changes in breast tissue. The incidence of mastopathy in the general population is 30-45%, and in the population of gynecological diseases - 50-60%. Most often, women are ill at the age of 40-50. These changes in breast tissue are benign, but patients with mastopathy are at high risk of cancer. So, breast cancer occurs 3-5 times more often against the background of benign breast diseases and 30-40 times more often with some forms of nodular mastopathy.
