Orchitis is an inflammation of the testicle, which is almost always a complication of some infectious and inflammatory disease. It can be mumps, influenza, scarlet fever, chickenpox, pneumonia, brucellosis, typhoid fever, but more often, of course, orchitis develops in inflammatory diseases of the genitourinary system (urethritis, prostatitis, vesiculitis, epididymitis). Orchitis may occur after testicular injury. Acute and chronic orchitis are distinguished along the current. The main complication of acute orchitis is the possible suppuration of the testicle and the subsequent development of a secretory form of infertility.
