Tracheitis is an inflammation of the lining of the trachea that results in a paroxysmal cough with chest pain and thick mucus. This disease rarely develops and proceeds as an independent disease, often a complication of ARVI, influenza, measles, scarlet fever, chickenpox. It may be the result of complications after laryngitis, bronchitis, rhinitis, pharyngitis. Most often, tracheitis develops in the spring and autumn.
