Vascular diseases of the eyes are gradually coming to the fore among the causes of incurable blindness. There is a large number of forms of the disease, but the central link in most of them is the obstruction of the vessel or insufficient intensity of blood flow through it. Depending on the degree of this circulatory failure, various forms of vascular diseases of the organ of vision occur. First of all, the light-sensitive layer of the retina, which plays an important role in the complex visual chain, suffers from insufficient blood circulation in the eye. Retinal vessel obstruction can develop in the arterial and venous trunks: in the first case, the inflow suffers, in the second - the outflow of blood.
